Doctors forced to illegally discharge bechir akremi from hospital shorty after torture , proof and sequence of events :
12 February 2023: Judge Bechir Akremi was arrested as part of a series of arrests of many prominent figures across Tunisia.
He was tortured by being kept in a cold room without a chair or bed, in isolation for 4 days. Link
The judge was released due to a lack of evidence, and an involuntary hospitalization order was issued based on the 17/02/2023 certificate.
He was admitted to Razi Hospital, where doctors working at the police detention center expressed his urgent need for medical care.

- 20 February 2023: Dr. Nessrine Bram writes a certificate stating that Mr. Bechir Akremi urgently needs medical care, as he is a threat to his own wellbeing and incapable of consenting.

- 24 February 2023: Despite Mr. Bechir Akremi repeatedly requesting to remain in the hospital due to his critical condition and the torture he endured, Dr. Nessrine Bram released him. The release, carried out under pressure from the police, was completely illegal, as the law Link 3: Involuntary Hospitalization Law requires that a committee of 3 doctors (who are not the patient’s direct doctors) approve the discharge. Dr. Bram, as his direct doctor, was the only one involved in the decision.
- This illegal discharge allowed the police to rearrest Judge Bechir Akremi on a new case prepared that afternoon, despite him insisting that he still needed medical care. The testimony of the legal officer present that day confirms his medical needs.
